The Government has allocated LKR 350 million to install solar rooftop systems in selected public buildings. 75% of the total funds will be disbursed to Government Hospitals, while the balance will be mainly disbursed mainly to schools. Bids were called for the “Project for the Provision of Solar Power Systems for Public Institutions under the Programme of Sooryabala Sangramaya” was advertised on September 9, 2017 and closed on October 4, 2017. Through this, a list of solar system service providers will be selected to implement the project.
Finds of the project are scheduled to be disbursed this year.
