Due to the power crisis situations occurred as a result of drought and shortcomings in the power generation government took steps to reduce the energy consumption in government sector. Circulars SP/PCMD/6/2015 issued on June 10, 2015 and January 27, 2017 by the presidential secretariat and circular issued by the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy on February 9, 2017, stresses that all the government organizations should appoint an energy management officer and all the organizations should take measures to reduce energy consumption and energy reporting has to be done. A programme was organized by the presidential task force for energy demand side management to enlighten the energy management officers on these circulars. The programme was successfully conducted on 23.05.2017 at the BMICH with the participation of over 200 energy management officers.
